Dr Christelle Withers-Mayne
Chris has spent 40 years working in rural Qld as a private psychologist, in child protection and now the NFP community sector. For the last 8 years, she has led Graham House Community Centre in the South Burnett region, specializing in community transport, men’s behaviour change, social inclusion activities and social enterprise.
Five years ago, Chris led Graham House in taking on brand new venture – operating the only family clothing store in Murgon, GH Clothing Co. With the support of an innovative management Board, Chris put her love of challenge, leadership skills and experience in research and planning to good use.
Graham House now supports their local community in a whole new way. Residents are able to buy clothing locally and the business economy is strengthened by keeping more business in town. Chris is excited to be part of this, and also to be providing more job opportunities in her small rural community.
