Leaning into the Social Impact in the Regions conference theme of “Regions in transition”, the delegates transitioned to their next workshops on the Southern Downs Steam Railway. The train made an hour-long journey south to nearby Ballandean, where delegates continued to their pre-selected workshops in vineyards across the region. The experience was designed to get people travelling together in different groups, creating space and a novel environment to connect over shared reflections and future opportunities. It was also an opportunity to support the local enterprise of the largely volunteer-run train line and share an experience with delegates who otherwise would not have the opportunity, while also meeitng the practical logistic necessity of moving over 200 people from one location to another.
