The SIITR24 National Pitchfest winner was Amanda di Medici from the FIQ Project.
You’ve heard of IQ, EQ, introducing you to FIQ – Financial Intelligence
Amanda has a long history within the Financial Literacy arena, and is an accredited vocational trainer, and learning
designer. Her passion for this area has seen her actively working within all areas of the community, including High Schools and TAFES, Correctional Facilities, Mental Health Programs, Addiction Facilities, Aged Care programs, to name a few.
What does the FIQ Project do?
The FIQ Project is upping the ante on Financial Literacy, moving to Financial Intelligence (FIQ) and taking Australia with us. We’re building financially aware, strong and resilient people who are able to plan a life to achieve their goals, no matter what they are. We’re also protecting vulnerable people from predatory schemes such as Pay Day Lenders and dodgy “Rent to Buy” schemes.
How we do it
- Accredited training for Community Services Professionals. AOD, DV, Justice case manager? Ever wondered how money, the lack of it, the poor management of it affects your client’s behaviour? Learn how to define, identify, respond and refer your clients appropriately. Improve your client and program outcomes.
- Non-Accredited training for both professionals and the general public. Living paycheque to
paycheque? Unable to save? Never had a budget? Credit defaults? Let’s run through it all and get to the bottom of the basic issues. We’ll have you planning ahead and meeting goals in 2 days. - Credit Reporting – I could care less about passports and birth certificates; they can be replaced. One wrong move on your credit report and you can be locked out of the financial market for up to 7 years. So, let’s be very clear about what does, and doesn’t affect your credit report.
- Program design and delivery – need a Financial Literacy element on your website, as a give-away, or for a program you run? We’ll scope it, design it and build it for you.
- Industry Briefings: Need to know how Financial Literacy affects your audience? Homelessness, DV, Addiction, Aging, Young Adults, Single Parents. Let’s discuss the relevant issues and how to address them.
- Advocacy: Participating in Community Industry Events, community meetings, government committees and planning to raise awareness and present proposals to assist the community. A focus on having “dodgy lenders” regulated and investigated is at the very top of our list.
