SIITR Gala dinner theme

Each year the SIITR Gala Dinner carries a theme which is determined by the ‘best dressed’ the year prior. (NOTE: the 2025 theme is shared below).

The conference theme adds an element of fun and surprise to the event and it also lends the opportunity for delegates to embrace with a different persona for the night as they interpret the theme. This was CERTAINLY the case for many delegates who attended the dinner at the Anglican Church precinct in 2024.

In 2023 the theme was hundreds and thousands, as the year 0 theme (the 2023 SIITR was deemed year 0 as it provided an opportunity to build the business case and take the event for a test run) was hundreds and thousands. The SIITR Advisory Team chose the theme as a representation of the many people the conference delegates and broader industry support each year and of course for the vibrancy of the concept.

The theme winner was Teddy Loveny of the Siddle Family Foundation. Teddy’s handmade jacket with resin coated fairy bread was a showstopper.

So in 2024 Teddy was anointed the theme champion choosing the new theme, ‘on the fringes‘.

It’s quite a fair assumption the Anglican Church precinct had never seen such a collection of sparkle, glitter, tule and colour as it entertained the audience in a night of great food, vibrant conversations and true fringe style with theming which depicted heaven and hell, and how our practices lie somewhere between, on the mortal plane.

There was nothing subtle about the 2024 theme and it was topped off by a theme parade which became a church courtyard dance-off judged by local (and formerly international) fashion icons Lemu, Chris and Louise (pic below).
