Jamaica Yager

Driven and community-minded, Jamaica is currently pursuing a double degree in Business/ Political Science & International Relations at Griffith University, supported by the Brighter Futures Scholarship. Jamaica's academic journey focuses on understanding global governance, diplomacy, and sustainability, with the ultimate goal of joining a government or business graduate program and advancing toward a career as an international diplomat. She is passionate about fostering cross-cultural connections, advocating for environmental sustainability, and contributing to global solutions.

Beyond academics, Jamaica is an active Surf Lifesaver with over four years of experience, ensuring the safety of beachgoers and mentoring young lifesavers as a Nippers coordinator. These roles have instilled in me strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills. As a former captain of her high school’s female soccer team and a competitive athlete in rowing, Jamaica continues to enjoy playing soccer as a way to stay active and connected to teamwork.
