This year’s program runs across three jam packed days and features keynotes, masterclasses, workshops and action learning sets across three themes:

  • Investing in regional impact
  • Amplifying regional voices and
  • Understanding regional challenges

We will also cover four streams which will be reported on after the conference. These include:

  • Youth Futures
  • Housing
  • Place-based change and
  • A further theme yet to be determined by the audience

The conference features over 50 speakers including international social impact and sustainability strategist, Philip Gaskin, CEO of Regional Australia Institute, Liz Ritchie, Commissioner for Regional Education, the Hon. Fiona Nash and CEO of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, Natalie Egleton.

There are also several social events which further support the local community including the popular national pitchfest, a welcome event, local portraiture exhibition and a conference gala dinner in a very unique location.

Social Impact in the Regions is a national conference designed in partnership with the host community via the Ready Communities program, this year the community is Kempsey NSW.

Kempsey Shire Council’s, General Manager, Craig Milburn says;

‘It’s very exciting for Kempsey to host this year’s Social Impact in the Regions Conference and Kempsey Shire Council is proud to sponsor an event that promises to invigorate our local economy, strengthen community bonds and spark initiatives tailored to our Shire’s unique challenges.
