Who attends SIITR?

With many events now adding a social impact stream you may be wondering how is Social Impact in the Regions different and should you attend? Social Impact in the Regions has been designed specifically for people who are creating and investing in change in regional communities. Learn more about who attends and what happens below.
There are many different cohorts who attend Social Impact in the Regions. They all have two common goals (1) Their social impact efforts are focused on regional communities and (2) a collective desire to enhance regional communities with a broad range of ‘how’.

The conference experience
Around half our audience are people representing small NGOs or Aboriginal Corporations. It’s not always easy to stay up to date with the latest information from the Social Impact sector and these organisations get a lot from the workshops and masterclasses and also meeting practitioners and funders who are in the audience throughou
Each year we invite a range of government departments at a local, state and commonwealth level. We invite these delegates to attend to learn more about how social impact policies and programs are playing out in the regions and also to share what government is currently doing to enhance social impact in regional communities. We continue this two-way dialogue throughout the year.
We are very proud to have the support of numerous foundations who provide valuable advice and insights throughout the conference planning cycle and also share information on their work in regional communities leading into and at the event. The foundations support their funding recipients and aligned delegates to attend and both the benefactors, and foundation delegates get a deeper understand about how to create change in regional communities through their attendance.
A range of intermediaries are represented each year. We choose intermediaries who ‘get’ regional communities and they attend to speak in various sessions, and to be in the audience to listen and provide support to practitioners.
Our social events include a welcome event and gala dinner.
Businesses wanting to enhance their impact in regional communities: We have a growing audience of small to medium businesses who want to enhance their engagement in social impact in regional communities beyond putting their name on the back of a t-shirt. These representatives enjoy the immersive nature of the conference and find it’s not only their ability to enhance their social impact that’s enhanced but also the extent of their network and creativity.
Each year we host a youth cohort who are expertly facilitated by Taz and Em of Futures Isle.
