CEO | Founder Benefolk Services
With a 30-year career spanning charity, social enterprise, philanthropy and corporate sectors, Julia is a passionate advocate for improving wellbeing outcomes for those who work and volunteer in the social sector.
Since launching Benefolk in 2018, Julia and her team have helped more than 15,000 social purpose organisations connect with resources and services to advance their mission, including the development of The Community Well resource hub and related advocacy - a dedicated focus on the mental health and wellbeing of social sector workforce. Her work has also included designing and delivering the RESET 2020 Research Study in 2020 that developed the first wellbeing indicators for the social sector - which she says has helped put some rigour around the scale of burnout – the "elephant in the room for too many years".
Julia holds a Masters in Philanthropy and Social Investment, served on the board of Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship (ACRE) for many years, is a staunch advocate for rural and regional communities. She lives near Lennox Head in Northern Rivers NSW.
